Zechariah 3

And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.

And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.

And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.

And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord stood by.

And the angel of the Lord protested unto Joshua, saying,

Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.

Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the Branch.

For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.

10 In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, shall ye call every man his neighbour under the vine and under the fig tree.

  1. Then the angel showed me Jeshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord. The Accuser, Satan, was there at the angel’s right hand, making accusations against Jeshua. And the Lord said to Satan, “I, the Lord, reject your accusations, Satan. Yes, the Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you. This man is like a burning stick that has been snatched from the fire.” Jeshua’s clothing was filthy as he stood there before the angel. So the angel said to the others standing there, “Take off his filthy clothes.” And turning to Jeshua he said, “See, I HAVE TAKEN AWAY YOUR SINS, AND NOW I AM GIVING YOU THESE FINE NEW CLOTHES.” Then I said, “They should also place a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean priestly turban on his head and dressed him in new clothes while the angel of the Lord stood by.
    Zechariah 3:1‭-‬5 NLT

What a beautiful picture of our salvation. We have nothing to stand before our Lord in but filthy rags. We are guilty and deserving of the accusations the enemy is hurling, but God silences the accuser and provides us with the robe of His righteousness. He took away our sins with His own blood, and now He provides us with clean garments and a priest’s turban, which symbolizes Holiness unto the Lord.

The enemy has nothing to charge us with, no power over us to condemn or shame us. The Judge of all the Earth has declared our debt paid and pronounced us clean, free, and chosen.
We can stand in His presence. We can come boldly before His throne. We can call Him Abba (Daddy).

“Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch; like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.”

Thank You, Jesus, for being my advocate, high priest, and Savior!

  2. 9 For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.

10 In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, shall ye call every man his neighbour under the vine and under the fig tree.

See what our GOD can do , why ? Because he is so merciful on us he gives us a second chance

  3. 1 And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.

2 And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.

4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.

The accuser it’s always there ready to accuse us of all we done, but I am glad that I have an advocate and His Name is JESUS!!! His Name is above all things! He rebuked the accuser and lets him know that WE ARE HIS!!!! Once we are saved He cleans us up, straightens us up, and put our feet on solid ground!!!! JESUS IS OUR SAVIOR!!!! NOTHING ELSE MATTERS!

  4. 7 Thus says the Lord of host, if you walk in my ways, and if you will keep my command, then you shall also judge My house, and likewise have charge of my courts, I will give you places to walk among these who stand here

  5. Verses 6-7 NIV “The angel of the Lord gave this charge to Joshua: “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘If you will walk in obedience to me and keep my requirements, then you will govern my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here.” IF we walk in obedience….the choice is ours. We learned this past Sunday in Sunday School and then Sunday night that because Jesus died on the cross for our sins, the veil no longer separated sinful people from our holy God. Now anyone who wants to come into the presence of God can come. The Lord will give you a place, if you will walk in obedience to Him. We asked our Sovereign Soldiers to place themselves in the memory verse:

“What? know ye not that (your name) body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in (your name), which (your name) has of God, and (your name) is not (his/her) own? For (your name) is bought with a price: therefore (your name), glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s”. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

  6. 4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.
HALELUJAH!!! GOD IS GOOD!!! GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS!!!

    Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)
22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

  7. 4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.
5 And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord stood by.
6 And the angel of the Lord protested unto Joshua, saying,
7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.

No matter how many times I hear it, no matter times I read about the grace and love of God saving someone God loves me, or that he gave us because son to die for me. I never want this message to get old to me. I never want to hear it so many times that it becomes to no effect. I pray that everyday I am refreshed by the spirit and renewed in his love love. That message never gets old

  8. 2. And the LORD said to Satan, “I, the LORD, reject your accusations, Satan. Yes, the LORD, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you. This man is like a burning stick that has been snatched from the fire.”

    3. Jeshua’s clothing was filthy as he stood there before the angel.

    4. So the angel said to the others standing there, “Take off his filthy clothes.” And turning to Jeshua he said, “See, I have taken away your sins, and now I am giving you these fine new clothes.” NLT

    Jude 1:
    23. And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

    24. Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

    25. To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. KJV

  9. Zechariah 3:2 (English Amp) And the Lord said to Satan, The Lord rebuke you, O Satan ! Even the Lord, Who [ now and habitually] chooses Jerusalem
rebuke you! Is not this [ returned captive Joshua] a brand plucked out of fire ? [ Jude 9] But when even the archangel Angel , contending with the devil, judicially argued ( disputed) about the body of Moses, He dared not [ persume to] bring an abusive codemnation against him, but [ simply ] said, The Lord rebuke you. God sends Angels to protect us , His will always destory the enemy,If God is before us than who can be against us.

  10. Now Joshua was clothed with filthy (nauseatingly vile) garments and was standing before the Angel [of the Lord ]. He spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” And He said to Joshua, “See, I have caused your wickedness to be taken away from you, and I will clothe and beautify you with rich robes [of forgiveness].” And I (Zechariah) said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with [rich] garments. And the Angel of the Lord stood by.
    ZECHARIAH 3:3‭-‬5 AMP

ALL GLORY AND HONOUR TO JESUS!!!!!

When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
    John 8:10‭-‬12 KJV

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
    Psalms 103:12 KJV

We truly are blessed children of GOD, to have been called of Him to a place of repentance and forgiveness!

    Reminds me of the song:

“If it wasn’t for the LORD, where would I be.”
….He made a difference in my life!

  11. Jeshua’s clothing was filthy as he stood there before the angel. So the angel said to the others standing there, “Take off his filthy clothes.” And turning to Jeshua he said, “See, I have taken away your sins, and now I am giving you these fine new clothes.”
“This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: If you follow my ways and carefully serve me, then you will be given authority over my Temple and its courtyards. I will let you walk among these others standing here.
Now look at the jewel I have set before Jeshua, a single stone with seven facets. I will engrave an inscription on it, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, and I will remove the sins of this land in a single day.
“And on that day, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, each of you will invite your neighbor to sit with you peacefully under your own grapevine and fig tree.”
    Zechariah 3:3‭-‬4‭, ‬7‭, ‬9‭-‬10 NLT

I stood before the Lord in filthy garment and the devourer accused me of many things, but THE LORD rebuked him and on June 9, 2013 He removed the garments from me, gave me new, clean garments and removed all of my sins in one day. I am beyond thankful. I am Your servant. Lord, I bless Your name.

  12. Zechariah 3:2-5
5 And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord stood by.

  13. “Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.”
    ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭3:7 KJV

“If thou walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge”
To be a Christian is to be Christ-like, It’s been said time and time again.
The Lord gave Joshua simple instruction to walk in His ways and He listed everything that came with it.
Could you walk in His ways for at least a day. How hard is it to keep your “cool” and hold your temper.
Or how hard is it to look the other way when temptation crosses your path.
We are called to walk in the ways of Christ.
That’s a privilege. The world is lost and some will think they got it figured out. The sad thing is we have something the lost don’t.
    The Holy Ghost.
    Let’s change the world

  14. 7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.

Once he has cleansed us and filled us with his Spirit, we must walk according to his ways and according to his word. Our ways must become His ways and we must be quick to repent and get on the strait path if we find that we have strayed. He is a great God full of mercy and love and gives us this chance to repent before He is the God of judgement. I’m thankful He has called me out of darkness.

  15. 3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.
4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.

7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.
8 Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the Branch.

  16. iLove the Kingdom

The enemy will always come to resist you. That’s what his name means…
    Resist# H7853 (Strong)
    שָׂטַן
    śâṭan
    saw-tan’
A primitive root; to attack, (figuratively) accuse: – (be an) adversary, resist.

This is the same thing Paul was going through when he wrote about the thorn in the flesh. Paul was not referring to a literal thorn in his flesh nor was he referring to a sickness or disease, he was referring to satan resisting him. Let’s check out the scripture. 2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. ‘

Ya’ll see that, several times through out the Bible we find folks being resisted by the devil but God will use the situation to push folks past the flesh and into ministry. The Lord simply says, “The Lord rebuke thee”. Wow, today we have a promise to “resist” the devil and he will flee from us. Come on Saints and let’s put up the resistance.

  17. Zechariah 3

3 1-2 Next the Messenger-Angel showed me the high priest Joshua. He was standing before God’s Angel where the Accuser showed up to accuse him. Then God said to the Accuser, “I, God, rebuke you, Accuser! I rebuke you and choose Jerusalem. Surprise! Everything is going up in flames, but I reach in and pull out Jerusalem!”

3-4 Joshua, standing before the angel, was dressed in dirty clothes. The angel spoke to his attendants, “Get him out of those filthy clothes,” and then said to Joshua, “Look, I’ve stripped you of your sin and dressed you up in clean clothes.”

Nothing but the Blood of Jesus
What can wash me white as snow
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Oh precious is the flow that makes me white as snow no other fiunt I know nothing but the blood of Jesus,

We must never forget it was through the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ that cleansed us from sin. I’ve geRd if a congregation who removed all songs from their repertoire about the blood.
Recently while teaching a lesson on the redemption of Jesus Christ someone read from their Bible the translation had left the word blood out. We must always remember Life is in the blood. From beginning to the end it will be the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ that set us free and took off the filthy garments of sin. Thank you Jesus for the blood you shed so we could be free.
Nothing But the Blood of Jesus.

  18. 7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.

God has so much in store for those that will serve Him and not this world. We must put aside all things of this world that will keep us from receiving all of the blessings and provisions that Jesus is just waiting to bestow upon us.

  19. 1 And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.

  20. 3:7 AMP Thus says the Lord Of hosts, if you will walk in my ways(that is remain faithful)and perform My service, then you will also govern My house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you free access to My precense among these who are standing here.
    ———-
Ok, we believed the gospel, and repented got baptized and receive his promise Holy Ghost:[POWER]. All right, we were obiedient and did everything. Now what?
Let us keep on keeping on..still being obidient to his call for us,faithful servants, full of compassion and submission..
The Lord has giving us authority to tramp upon serpents and to everything that comes against us, we now have HIS Holy Spirit, are we going to yield to it, or be rebellious and do it our way?
I want to be with Him, I want to be with Him!!!!! At all times.

  21. And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.
    Zechariah 3:4 KJV
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
    Psalms 32:1 KJV
    The greatest of blessings and benefit we receive from our Lord Jesus is forgiveness for our sins and right standing with God! Bless the Lord , O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
    Psalms 103:2‭-‬3 KJV

  22. 2 And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?
3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.
4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.

Just yesterday I was doing a Bible study lesson and it asked what image came to mind when reading Psalm 51:2, “Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.” These verses are almost exactly what I imagined. We come before God filthy, torn up, and disgusting, but then God steps in and transforms us – Thank you Jesus! Being forgiven and redeemed through true repentance is perhaps the cleanest slate we could ever get. God completely renews us and washes us “throughly” from the inside out! All the while the enemy was right there getting rebuked and watching the transformation of Joshua unfold. Ha! In your dace devil! Literally!

It’s amazing how You make beauty from our brokenness Lord; Your grace and mercy is so undeserved but thank You Jesus for saving me!

  23. THY KINGDOM COME
    KINGDOM FAVOR

1 And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.
2 And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

Joshua is an illustration of our dirty lives when we come to JESUS, as well as the life of a backslider or anybody who sins how life is stained by sin. While satan is busy identifying our sins and condemning us for our past. The LORD rebukes satan as HE our Savior JESUS identifies us as one HE pilled from the fire.

    Rebuke – 1 a : to criticize sharply : reprimand
b : to serve as a rebuke to
2 : to turn back or keep down : check

The expressed HIS Grace toward Joshua as HE does toward us, As we seek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD we walk in the KINGDOM FAVOR of our savior. While satan is acusing JESUS is rebuking.

Thank you JESUS for Grace and Mercy. While we were sinners you demonstrated you love for us.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

The KINGDOM FAVOR of JESUS is for us to express to HIM our Love and thanks for HIS Love to us. That HE would wash us in HIS Blood and fill us with HIS Holy Spirit is humbling and encouraging.

  24. Zechariah 3:3-4
    3) Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.
    4) And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.”

What a MERCIFUL God we serve!
We were born in sin and shapen in iniquity, yet God is so MERCIFUL, that He forgave us of our sins, took our filthy garments and cast them away, and clothed us with the garments of salvation and covered us with the robe of righteousness.

  25. shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.

2 And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

  26. 4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.

I can’t help but to notice the Bible says “he answered and spake unto those that stood before him” at first I wondered why it would say He “answered and spake” You see at the rebuke of God the angels stood at attention. Have you ever watched someone get into trouble by a parent? At the first word of an upset parent can silence a room and cause everyone to take notice and get ready. lol The same is even more true for God; when God speaks all of heaven and hell takes notice.

The angel’s poster at that moment was the poster of “what do you want us to do?’ They stood at attention waiting on the direction of God because they understood the principle that after a rebuke comes a change and the angels were ready to participate in what God was doing. How ready are we? When God rebukes the stronghold that the enemy has on lives are we postured as the angels giving God the notion that we are ready to obey His command or are we sitting waiting on someone else to do it? Are we willing to cover our brother’s sin in prayer or reveal it to all that will listen?

Let us take on this nature and always be ready!

  27. 4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.

Growing up, I was easily distracted and would forget where I would place things. Clothes would be scattered, shoes split in two different places, and socks would simply disappear.

There would be mornings rushing to get ready unable to find the left shoe and wanting to wear a dirty shirt cause I forgot to put it in the wash. As I got older, I’m still easily distracted and forget very useful information. But I don’t go through the dirty clothes to wear an unwashed garment, I simply change my outfit.

Why is it when we come to God, and He cleanses us and replaces our filthy rags into fine linens, why do some desire the filthy rags?

Why would we want to give up the chance to remain pure, holy, and Christ-like to be back in the filthy rags of sorrow and pain?

Let us not become easily distracted in the One who loves with no end. Let us not forget the One who died for us before we were ever conceived.

But live in gratitude and humility that once was filthy is now clean!

  28. “Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. And the angel of the Lord protested unto Joshua, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.”
    ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭3:3-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So thankful that God didn’t leave me the same way He found me. He has changed me. And when he comes back He is looking for a church with no spot or wrinkle. We simply must walk in His ways and be holy.

  29. 1 And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.

2 And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

The accusations satan made against Joshua were accurate, they just no longer mattered.
When the enemy tries to trip you up with your past, just remember in the eyes of God, that sin has been forgiven and forgotten. It no longer matters and therefore does not have the power to control you.

5 And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord stood by.

“Satan know your name, but calls you by your sin.
God knows your sin but calls you by your name.”

How many times have we come before God in nothing more than raggedy, filthy clothes? We come to Him full of sin, covered in carnality, and broken once again by what the world had to offer us. And what does He do? He gives us new clothes to wear, empties us of sin, covers us in His mercy, and makes us whole. He forgets the sin and gives us a new life.
    Jesus you change everything!

  30. Then the angel showed me Jeshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord . The Accuser, Satan, was there at the angel’s right hand, making accusations against Jeshua. And the Lord said to Satan, “I, the Lord , reject your accusations, Satan. Yes, the Lord , who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you. This man is like a burning stick that has been snatched from the fire.”
    Zechariah 3:1‭-‬2 NLT
Like always the devil come to kill steel and destroy angle rebuked the devil jeshua was given new clothing because he was made new GOD told him if you follow my ways answer me he would give him Authority over the temple
“This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: If you follow my ways and carefully serve me, then you will be given authority over my Temple and its courtyards. I will let you walk among these others standing here.
    Zechariah 3:7 NLT
Everything changed when his kingdom come
    We are made new

  31. 2 And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

There comes a point were our rebukes on the devil only go so far. A time when we have to call on a higher power to give us the victory. That power is Jesus… instead of fighting ourselves and trying to defeat the devil alone we need to give it over to Jesus sometimes and let Him fight our battles.

  32. 1Then the angel showed me Jeshuaa the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD. The Accuser, Satan,b was there at the angel’s right hand, making accusations against Jeshua.

Just imagine on judgement day, a simple scenario; you, God and Satan. You pleading your case to God to let you into heaven. And Satan telling God about all your sins, your past history, your disobedience to God. You wanting to tell Satan to shut-up!

But thank you Jesus, who is a gracious and merciful God. We have been forgiven of our sins. We all have sinned, we all have faults, but Jesus has forgiven us, so long we keep Jesus in our lives.

  33. AMP = 3 Now Joshua was clothed with [c]filthy (nauseatingly vile) garments and was standing before the Angel [of the Lord]. 4 He spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” And He said to Joshua, “See, I have caused your wickedness to be taken away from you, and I will clothe and beautify you with rich robes [of forgiveness].” 5 And I (Zechariah) said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with [rich] garments. And the Angel of the Lord stood by.

6 And the Angel of the Lord [solemnly and earnestly] admonished Joshua, saying, 7 “Thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘If you will walk in My ways [that is, remain faithful] and perform My service, then you will also govern My house and have charge of My courts, and I will give you free access [to My presence] among these who are standing here.

The promise to all of us who will exchange the garments of sin for the righteousness of the Lord can be found in these verses. If we will be obedient, we will have access to His presence continually.

  34. 7Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.

  35. “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: If you follow my ways and carefully serve me, then you will be given authority over my Temple and its courtyards. I will let you walk among these others standing here.(Zechariah 3:7 NLT)

In this verse God speaks to Joshua. Today in this world people are wanting to do there own things of the flesh and not obey and not follow the ways of God but if they repent and turn away from there sinful ways and carefully serve God. Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.(Matthew 22:37 KJV). if we obey Jesus he will give us the authority over his temple and his courtyards and will allows us to walk among the world that is lost.

  36. The chapter closes with a dersevedly famous glimpse of the peaceful nature of pastoral life in the millennium:

“In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, shall ye call every man his neighbour under the vine and under the fig tree.”
    ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭3:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  37. God gives his people power over the enemy. We must learn how to use that power to keep the enemy where he belongs. Don’t be afraid of what the enemy is trying to throw at you. God has given us the power over him.

  38. 1 And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.

5 And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord stood by.

The angel showed Joshua, the high priest, to Zechariah, in a vision. Guilt and corruption are great discouragements when we stand before God. By the guilt of the sins committed by us, we are liable to the justice of God; by the power of sin that dwells in us, we are hateful to the holiness of God. Even God’s Israel are in danger on these accounts; but they have relief from Jesus Christ, who is made of God to us both righteousness and sanctification. Joshua, the high priest, is accused as a criminal, but is justified. When we stand before God, to minister to him, or stand up for God, we must expect to meet all the resistance Satan’s subtlety and malice can give. Satan is checked by one that has conquered him, and many times silenced him. Those who belong to Christ, will find him ready to appear for them, when Satan appears most strongly against them. A converted soul is a brand plucked out of the fire by a miracle of free grace, therefore shall not be left a prey to Satan. Joshua appears as one polluted, but is purified; he represents the Israel of God, who are all as an unclean thing, till they are washed and sanctified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. Israel now were free from idolatry, but there were many things amiss in them. There were spiritual enemies warring against them, more dangerous than any neighbouring nations. Christ loathed the filthiness of Joshua’s garments, yet did not put him away. Thus God by his grace does with those whom he chooses to be priests to himself. The guilt of sin is taken away by pardoning mercy, and the power of it is broken by renewing grace. Thus Christ washes those from their sins in his own blood, whom he makes kings and priests to our God. Those whom Christ makes spiritual priests, are clothed with the spotless robe of his righteousness, and appear before God in that; and with the graces of his Spirit, which are ornaments to them. The righteousness of saints, both imputed and implanted, is the fine linen, clean and white, with which the bride, the Lamb’s wife, is arrayed, Revelation 19:8. Joshua is restored to former honours and trusts. The crown of the priesthood is put on him. When the Lord designs to restore and revive religion, he stirs up prophets and people to pray for it.

  39. If

7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.

There are a lot of “If’s” in the Bible. The very small
word hold such an important meaning and message. The contingency of what Hod will go if you fulfill your part. When we do all we can and know to do, then God will do what we cannot do.

  40. And the Lord said to Satan, “I, the Lord , reject your accusations, Satan. Yes, the Lord , who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you. This man is like a burning stick that has been snatched from the fire.” Jeshua’s clothing was filthy as he stood there before the angel. So the angel said to the others standing there, “Take off his filthy clothes.” And turning to Jeshua he said, “See, I have taken away your sins, and now I am giving you these fine new clothes.”
    Zechariah 3:2‭-‬4 NLT

One may be like a burning stick snatched from the fire but even so your may need a new change of clothes. We must take away the garments of filth or sin and allow God to command new garmets of clean redemption.

  41. 6 The angel of the Lord gave this charge to Joshua: 7 “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘If you will walk in obedience to me and keep my requirements, then you will govern my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here.

There’s always a blessing in obedience. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Being obedient brings blessings upon your life and those around you. This verse reminds me of the story of Jonah. Jonah was scared and ran away and because of his disobedience he caused a storm upon his life and those that were around him. The chaos/storm/trial went away after he did what he had to do. Yes, he was probably scared but at the end Jesus was with him and Jonah was able to warn the city of Nineveh and through his obedience that city turned from thier wicked ways. I have seen many souls run away and be disobedient and thier lives turn into chaos. I want to always be obedient to your voice, to your Word Lord!! Without you I am nothing Jesus!!! Help me Jesus to ALWAYS obey YOU!!!

  42. Zechariah 3:1

And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.

Now when a Trinitarian tells me that Jesus is at the “right” hand of the Father, I’m gonna say, I thought Satan was?

There is no “right” side to an eternal being! It’s like trying to find a corner on a circle, it’s just not there.

  43. “And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord stood by.”
    ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Fair mitre
    Good turbine
