James 3

My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.

Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.

Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:

But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?

12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

  1. 1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body

Life and death lie in the power of the tongue. Things will rise and they will fall based off What we say. Masters in the verse is translated to mean “teacher” although it is not directly discouraging us to not be teachers, it is forwarning of the dangers that come with it. Actions are infinitely easier to maintain when our words are bridled and we hold our selves accountable for them.

  2. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.

Something I always stew on is that the Bible refers to us in several places as peaceMAKERS, not peaceKEEPERS. That means that where there is chaos, we make peace, where there is disorder, division, and discord, we make peace. Peace is something that is fought for and practiced. When the Peace of God washes over us there is nothing more comforting. We have the ability to call that down from heaven and speak it/make it flourish in situations. Make Peace. That is the sign of a child of God. Those that make the peace…not just keep it. If you keep the peace then that implies that it was already there, but because of the sweet, precious power of the Holy Ghost we can make the peace. Jesus name

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
    Matthew 5:9 KJV

  3. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:

8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

There are many things that a person can do for the kingdom and for the world in which they live in. But there is but one thing that they must do in order to be like Jesus, that to guard the one part of the body that the scripture says that no man can tame and that’s the tongue. Life and death are in the tongue when we say things that are hurtful and harmful to one’s spirit, we will create an environment of love and peace or pure chaos and hatred.

I’ve always been told that if we cannot speak nice or kind we should not speak at all. Because we can not take back what was release from our mouths. No matter how bad we feel or how we wish we should not have spoken anything at all.

    1 Corinthians 13 states-

1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

When we speak it has to be in love and in the manner in which we want those to speak to us. Again the greatest weapon in our arsenal next to our mind is the tongue. That is why I pray this morning to God that his praise will continually be in my mouth. From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same he shall be praised by me. That way if I can give god the best with my tongue whom that I have not seen, how much more goodness, peace, joy, love and comfort can I speak to those that I can be a great witness to for the kingdom of God. I have to seek first the kingdom in my self before I can seek it in others.

    I love the Kingdom!

  4. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

The tongue, as spoken in this chapter, is very powerful. I has he power to kindle a fire – the question is, what kind of fire are you burning? What are you sending forth from your mouth? I pray we all speak the Word with boldness. This is not the day or time to play with strange fire; the world needs Jesus now more than ever! What you speak and how you speak matters – send up a holy fire today in Jesus Name! “I’ve got a fire burning, burning inside of me!” Lord set us ablaze in Your “everburning, all consuming fire!”

  5. James 3
13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

    THE PIWER OF THE TONGUE
The power of the tongue. The Word says it is such a little member but can set a whole forest on fire.
It can destroy in seconds but it can also bring life.

Jesus at the center of it all.
Let the words of my mouth be acceptable to you oh
    Lord……

Psalm 19:14 King James Version (KJV)

14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

    James 1:26 ESV
If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person’s religion is worthless.

    Proverbs 31:26
26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

    Psalms 141
3 Set a guard over my mouth, LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.

Proverbs “The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouths of fools pour out folly” (Prov 15:2).

  6. But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
    James 3:5‭-‬6‭, ‬8‭-‬10 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/jas.3.5-10.KJV

Sometimes I feel like God enjoys slapping me upside my thick head! God knows that my tounge and I have an agreement, but I am striving to keep my agreements, my toung does not care, but it is part of my body, it is subject to God, but even still, there are times when I get so angry, and its not good, at all, and I’m left later with needing to repent, with needing to apologise, there are a couple ways that we can receive deliverance from an unruly member, so the bible says in Ephesians 4:29
Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.

    colossians 4:6
Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person

Even though God acknowledges that the tounge is unruly, we have the power to shut our mouths, we can repent for what pops in our head and doesn’t fly out of our mouth, we have to have control and submission and discipline, I beleive it helps me, if I’ve prayed and read some word, I’m ready, if we are praying, then we are using our tounge for its designated purpose. If we are praying in the Spirit, then The Holy Ghost is in control and there is no room in our mouths for foolishness! Lord Jesus, Help me!

  7. KINGDOM HEART:

In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison. Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God.
    James 3:5‭-‬9 NLT

This so very true; I’ve done it and I’ve seen it. The tongue is sharp as a two edged sword. Hey I think there’s a scripture on that? Ok so not exactly about the tongue being a two-edged sword, but the word of God being sharper than any two-edge sword. For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Hebrews 4:12 NLT So there is nothing that we can do: to show God up. I don’t understand why parole try to. Every time I have heard somebody try to show God up or find fault in His word. They end up finding fault within themselves. I’m sorry to say that your tongue cannot out talk the truth of God’s word. You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. Matthew 12:34 NLT We are nothing without the word of God. I cannot serve God if I have evil on my tongue; cuase that would mean that there is evil in my heart. You can’t serve God and the world. It’s time to pick; your heart for the Kingdom or your tongue for the world. You can’t hve both” this is that moment you can’t have your cale and eat it to. Pride has to be swallowed so that God can fill my heart with that of His kingdom. I have had to bite my tongue literally so that God could remove the poison that almost spewed from my mouth. Thank you Jesus for ordering my heart and guiding my tongue this day.

  8. 2Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.

The all mighty tongue, it can curse and speak evil. But it can also encourage, speak peace and blessings to others. God wants us to learn how to control ourselves and live Holy.

1 Thessalonians 4:4 4Then each of you will control his own body and live in holiness and honor.

  9. 16. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

We realize that there is going to be envying and strife in the world, but they certainly have no place in The Kingdom of God.

    Matthew 12:25
And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

God will not tolerate confusion and division in His Kingdom, so to put FIRST The Kingdom, we must put aside our envy and let unity bring us together for the purpose He has called us to.

  10. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    PEACE MAKERS

16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Some people are challenging to be around and spend time with. This passage grants us some insight into the why. Where envying and strife is, there is confusion. Some people that are hard to understand or confusing are dealing with or driven by envy and strife; better know as jealousy and pride.

Song 8:6 … for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.

Jealousy or envy is cruel, jealousy births deception, this is where confusion and evil work comes in. Deceit is evil, not honest, not pure.

    BUT…

PEACE is to them that make PEACE and this is Righteousness. Any fool can argue, but the righteous make PEACE.

    The little things

It’s the little things that can have the most impact in someone’s life.something said at the wrong time, something that was do, ect. At the same time a word of encouragement, a smile, and even a small action of holding the door, can impact someone. For His Kingdom we must strive and go out of way to show the Love of a God through the little things. Tell a seed it cant become a tree that bears fruit, tell a drop of water that it wont be part of the ocean. In these you cant because they are, we must tell others about what their Heavenly Father has done for them and show them the love of Christ.

  12. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Do we bring peace to situations or confusion? We must recognize that a fruit that should be evident in our lives is the fruit of peace.

When Gods spirit shows up in a tune if turmoil great peace can be felt. That is a fruit that I want people to know me by – I want to bring peace into every situation.

Matthew 5:9 KJV. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

  13. James 3-18 (Amp) And the harvest of righteous
( of conformity to God’s will in thought and deed) is [ the fruit of the seed] sown in peace by those who work for and make peace [ in themselves and in others, that peace which means concord, agreement, and harmony between individuals, with undisturbedness, in a peaceful mind free from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts. But wisdom from above is first of all pure ( undefiled); then it is peace- loving, courteous , considerate, gentle) . Full of compassion and good fruits. Free from douts, anger , jealous, selfishness or hate. We should make peace with others. Go out and plant the seed of love to there lives. Praise God.

  14. 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be I streamed full of mercy and good fruits, without partiaciallity and without hypocrisy.
And the fruit of righteousness is down in peace of them that make peace.
    ——————
    If they talk KEEP PEACE
    if they murmured, keep peace
If they start things keep peace
If they do wrong keep peace
    If the criticized keep peace
    PEACE is our weapon.
Let us learn when to speak and when to keep our mouth shut.

    I pray
    I rejoice
    I work
    I seek peace.

  15. And the tongue is a fire. The tongue, a world of unrighteousness, is placed among the parts of our bodies. It pollutes the whole body, sets the course of life on fire, and is set on fire by hell.
    James 3:6 HCSB

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
    Matthew 12:34 KJV

The tongue is a window to the heart. We can pretend to be spiritual, but the tongue will eventually reveal what is truly in our hearts. We can fool men, leaders, and even spouses, but never can we fool the tongue. If we listen long enough, the tongue will always tell.

This is not always a bad thing. We can learn to sharpen our ears to hear what our tongues are really saying, and thereby discover the hidden sins of our own hearts. Has something ever escaped out of your mouth and you wondered amazedly where that had come from? It came from an attitude, an affection that you had buried but not truly dealt with. In ths way, the tongue can be a friend, showing us what we need to repent of and leading us to a greater maturity in Christ.

We must listen. Are our words negative, bitter complaints? Or are they praise and gratitude? Do we speak envy or blessing? Criticism or encouragement? Doubt or faith? Learning to judge our own words could save us from many troubles, and perhaps even the fires of hell.

  16. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?

    • Therefore we bless Jesus in giving us life to live on earth as is children, even the father there with curse the men,the Same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing so don’t the fountain send water from Jesus in heaven to people on earth?

  17. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

Proverbs 13:2 A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.

What is your mouth spewing out???? Can you eat good from the fruit of your mouth?? Or are we using it as a sword and cutting down everyone around us??? Be aware that our word can sometimes hurt more than our actions!!

  18. Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way. We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth. In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison. And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!
    James 3:2‭-‬3‭, ‬5‭-‬6‭, ‬8‭, ‬10 NLT
Be careful what comes out of your mouth life and death lies between your mouth .

  19. But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.
    James 3:17 NLT

The wisdom of this world only brings you knowledge of things and situations. With this wisdom can also make us prideful and makes us think that we are better than people but Godly wisdom is pure and comes with actions toward others and not only us.

  20. 10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?

12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

This reminds me of a basic see-saw you would see on the playground. You are either going up or down depending on which side has more weight on it. If you give more weight or more words to speaking curses, foul or inappropriate language or speaking evil things like gossip. The more you are going go to tip your scale or see-saw to the side of speaking evil things. And the more you do the easier it becomes. But the more good, encouraging words you speak means it will make that side heavier and easier to speak those words the more you do them. Because you can straddle both sides, eventually you lean will to either side. So lean towards the side of good words.

  21. iLove the Kingdom in Action
2For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.\

Just got the revelation today in service. Like the light came on and hit me upside the ole noggin. Yep, for years I just read this verse and it completely passed by me with no understanding. Kinda like when most folks read the book of Revelation. Yall check it out, “If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man…”

Yall remember what Jesus said? ‘ Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. ‘Matthew 5:48

Anyone ever wonder what Jesus meant? Anyone ever wonder how to be perfect? James answers the question on how to be perfect…Don’t offend folks with your tongue. The word offend here doesn’t mean when you correct someone. The word offend means πταίω
    ptaiō
    ptah’-yo
A form of G4098; to trip, that is, (figuratively) to err, sin, fail (of salvation): – fall, offend, stumble.

This type of offending tongue is more than just hurting someone’s feelings, but it offends to the point of causing that person to backslide. Lord help each and everyone of us be cautious and allow the Holy Ghost control over our tongues.

  22. James 3:9-10 (voice)
    9) Ironically this same tongue can be both an instrument of blessing to our Lord and Father and a weapon the hurls curses upon others who are created in God’s own image.
    10) One mouth streams forth both blessings and curses. My brothers and sisters, this is not how it should be.

Proverbs 18:21a says, “Death and Life are in the power of the tongue:…”
We can speak curses or we can speak blessings.
    BUT
What does St. Matt. 12:34 say, “… for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.”
So, the question might be, “What is in your heart?” For this is what we speak.

  23. I Love To Worship The Lord
    (vs-6)
    The Living Bible
    PARAPHRASED
And the tongue is a flame of fire . It is full of wickedness and poisons ever part of the body. And the tongue is set on fire by hell itself and can turn our whole lives into a blazing flame of destruction and disaster.
The tongue is small but what enormous damage it can cause. This is a great chapter to read as a reminder of us part of the body of Christ to be very careful of how we speak to one another. For myself i have been guilty at times of miss-using my tongue talking to others and have hurt there fillings. In most of the time i am very careful not to hurt ones fillings of what i speak.
Being a Leader over the cleaning team for years i have learned to speak carefully to others on the team and let them know how much i appreciate the hard work they do.
Yes i find this chapter very important for all of us to live by. I also was thinking of our Great Pastor and the First lady. If you think about it they or great when it comes to control over the tongue. All the people they communicate with and counsel with and all the words that come out of the Pulpit. We are a very blessed
church. Thank Pastor and First lady of being great when it comes to having control over the TONGUE.

  24. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

The tongue is a way we can use to worship GOD in song, but it is a way we can also hurt people because sometimes words hurt more than a hit to our flesh….. GOD is too good and there is no time to waste on things of the flesh!!! We need to be cautious of the things we say even on what we would want to say. We need to keep our spirit right before GOD!!! I love you JESUS!!!

  25. [Jas 3:7-8 NLT] 7 People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, 8 but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison.

People can tame animals but they can’t tame their own tongue because as somebody once said, it’s in a slippery place. It takes the Holy Ghost to tame it and give it a brand new language! Even then, it is like your old sinful nature, it likes to raise up again and show itself. So the tongue needs to be continually put under the check of the Spirit because it is restless and can be used for evil or for good. It is so powerful, it can be used to speak Life or Death! Let’s speak life, love and faith in Jesus Name!

  26. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

Your tongue is the most powerful weapon. It can send praises and prayer for healing or it can cut and damage someone to the core. The words that we speak are of a double edged sword. Are you going to use this sword for good or evil? Are you going to set fire to your soul or fan the flames of hell?

  27. “But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭3:14, 16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I pray we all receive revelation that we can’t hve strife in our hearts. The Bible says it plain as day where envying and strife is then there is confusion. If it’s in our hearts how can we receive truth if our hearts are confused. This is why we have to have a clear state of mind and get our focus on God when it comes to receiving the Holy Ghost. Unforgiveness can be hidden in your heart but it’s not exposed so therefore it’s not a hindering factor. It’s just like finding gym on the bottom of your shoe it’s not a problem until you stepped in it.
    Bible says this

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The Holy Ghost is a gift. Forgiveness must happen

  28. 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

As I read the chapter earlier this morning, this is what jumped out at me. Although the first discusses our speech, the wisdom is what caught my eye. Moreover, the difference between the two. The world recognizes wisdom, but usually the wisdom it sees is going to be the fleshly wisdom, and the person’s desire for success. As we look at the spiritual wisdom, it doesn’t loose any of the drive for success, we just seek His approval, and not man’s.

  29. From this chapter I learned that we have prove everything we say by his word. If we can’t prove it, it’s most likely not to be true. Obey his promise POFW , PROVE HIS WORD!

  30. 8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Jesus give us the gift of the Holy Ghost the power of tongues the member that God can only tame! Jesus has power and authority over everything.

  31. It is important to watch what you say. Many times people’s words have gotten them in trouble. You must think before you speak. Don’t allow your words to dig a hole so deep that you can’t get out of.

  32. James 3:2 We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.
For some of us, that means keeping our mouths shut more often. After all, a close mouth gathers no foot ! But nobody said it’s easy. Solomon said: When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise . Proverbs 10:19
James further added : If anyone consider himself religious and yet does not keep a tight reign on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless
    James 1:26

I pray my tongue brings blessings and my words draw people to Jesus!

  33. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

When the spirit of confusion and evil works creeps in we need to check for envy and strife.
God is calling us to a place of unity and we cannot afford to allow these things to pull us away from where Heis calling us. Let’s be in unity with His desires

  34. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

Life and death with a little member called the tongue. There is so much power with what we speak. You will have what you say. We as followers of Christ have Gods creative power to create with our spoken God.

  35. “A bit in the mouth of a horse controls the whole horse. A small rudder on a huge ship in the hands of a skilled captain sets a course in the face of the strongest winds. A word out of your mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything—or destroy it! It only takes a spark, remember, to set off a forest fire. A careless or wrongly placed word out of your mouth can do that. By our speech we can ruin the world, turn harmony to chaos, throw mud on a reputation, send the whole world up in smoke and go up in smoke with it, smoke right from the pit of hell.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭3:5-6‬ ‭MSG‬‬

So much chaos is caused in the church and in this world because we just can’t seem to keep our mouth shut and our tongue from running. Speak life, not death.

  36. 9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

When we speak evil about someone, we are speaking evil about God. Because we were all made after his similitude.

We would be foolish to curse God, then let’s not make a fools of ourselves by cursing his creation.

  37. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

God takes care of us WITHOUT Partiality and WITHOUT Hypocrisy.

  38. Verses 3-5 MSG “A bit in the mouth of a horse controls the whole horse. A small rudder on a huge ship in the hands of a skilled captain sets a course in the face of the strongest winds. A word out of your mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything—or destroy it!…..”.

Ephesians 4:29 NLT “Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.

1 Peter 3:10 NLT “For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.”

Proverbs 15:4 NLT “Gentle words are a tree of life; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.”

  39. “But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

These are the things we should live by.

  40. From this chapter I learned that you only have one of two choices. To please God or the world. I choose God beacause he is our everlasting savior. We cannot be caught up in the world and forget about God. Sometimes just step aside and pray. Jump up and down and pray. Don’t try to please the world try to please God. God is the one that deserves it he gave you breath in life and brought you into this world. TEAM JESUS!!😁😁😁😁

  41. 17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. 18 And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.[d]

Lord I pray you would help me have wisdom for your glory and honor. Having jealousy and being selfish does not bring any good. But as your Word days here wisdom is pure. Wisdom is what is going to show us how to act. It’s going to show us how to treat others. Lord I pray you would increase my wisdom so I can be able to help these souls reach your Kingdom.
