Read Proverbs Chapter 15

1 Peter 3

Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;

While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.

Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;

But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:

Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

13 And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?

14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

  1. 1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;

2 While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.

Submit to your husband and if he doesn’t believe in the word, your way of life with Jesus or changed behavior could change his heart.
    Hallelujah!

  2. 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

When someone says you don’t have to be baptized to go to heaven, and says that it’s just about being a good person this is the scripture that is best suited apart from John 3:3. Being renewed in Christ isn’t always about putting away bad things about being renewed in Christ and answering are convictions with obedience.

  3. Verses 8-17 CEV “Finally, all of you should agree and have concern and love for each other. You should also be kind and humble. Don’t be hateful and insult people just because they are hateful and insult you. Instead, treat everyone with kindness. You are God’s chosen ones, and he will bless you. The Scriptures say, “Do you really love life? Do you want to be happy? Then stop saying cruel things and quit
telling lies. Give up your evil ways and do right, as you find and follow the road that leads to peace. The Lord watches over everyone who obeys him, and he listens to their prayers. But he opposes everyone who does evil.” Can anyone really harm you for being eager to do good deeds? Even if you have to suffer for doing good things, God will bless you. So stop being afraid and don’t worry about what people might do. Honor Christ and let him be the Lord of your life. Always be ready to give an answer when someone asks you about your hope. Give a kind and respectful answer and keep your conscience clear. This way you will make people ashamed for saying bad things about your good conduct as a follower of Christ. You are better off to obey God and suffer for doing right than to suffer for doing wrong.” Once again we are reminded that we are God’s chosen ones. We must follow and obey, not being afraid for the Lord is with us. Psalm 34:19 CEV says “The Lord’s people may suffer a lot, but he will always bring them safely through.”

  4. 3:17
If a Christian must suffer, which night sometimes be Dod’s Will for him. It should be for ding good . But he should not during suffering on himself for his own misdeeds; there is no virtue in that.

  5. 15Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it. 16But do this in a gentle and respectful way.c Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.(NLT)

When we as Christians are able to worship God as the Lord of our life, we will begin to reflect Christ in everything that we do. When we are instant in season and out of season to tell of the goodness of Jesus and all he has done for us. We should not tell it in a boastful and arrogant way but in a humble way because initially we didn’t deserve the grace of God, but he gave it to us because he loved his creation so much.

We have to respectful of others but we can not tell people of this world that Jesus saves. We can find peace in him and as long as we can keep our conscience clear, we will be a light in the dark world. People will begin to see us as a hope and then we will be able to witness as Jesus called us to do.

Never forsake our walk and relationship to God for anything or anyone. While seeking first the kingdom of God not only will bring us peace that passes understanding, but will bring us joy, love, and all of the attributes of Christ for others to see. So when others speak against us to tear us down, they will not be able to conquer us because of the foundation of Jesus. To show them we are more than conquerors through Christ.

    I love the Kingdom!

  6. What a testimony!!!

Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.
    1 Peter 3:1‭-‬2 KJV
This scripture holds to be true! This is how bro.G came to the Lord. He seen how The LORD had changed me completely March 16, 1997. Doubt, fear, and questions arose. But finally one day (2 1/2 months later), the Holy Spirit drew him to an altar of repentance…. and the rest is history ❤ sisters in Christ keep praying, and keep fasting. The Lord will do a mighty work in the lives of your husbands and children. Stop asking GOD why and when…His timing is perfect!! And as a sister in Christ, i will rejoice with you!!! Hallelujah what a testimony!!!

This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord .
    Lamentations 3:21‭-‬26 KJV

15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Life is filled with questions. The BIBLE is full of answers. It is my desire to live life by the WORD of GOD. I seek FIRST the WORD of GOD to find answers and direction for life.

When our lifestyles are distinctively different from the rest of the world, we create the room for question from those that do not understand our commitments and convictions. We must study the WORD of GOD to show ourselves as those that live for GOD, honor and obey HIS WORD.

My HOPE is eternal LIFE with JESUS that began when I was Born Again of Water and Spirit. This must be the first HOPE I am able to explain. How to be Born Again. Make sure you are able to share this GOspel HOPE with everyone you meet.

  8. 7. In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered. NLT

Does it seem like your prayers aren’t getting answered?
How do you treat your wife? Do you give her honor, treat her with understanding, as an equal, valuing her opinion?
We are the Bride of Christ…treat your bride the way He treats His – with mercy and compassion, etc, or your prayers may keep bouncing off the ceiling.

  10. But in your hearts set Christ apart [as holy–acknowledging Him, giving Him first place in your lives] as Lord. Always be ready to give a [logical] defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope and confident assurance [elicited by faith] that is within you, yet [do it] with gentleness and respect. And see to it that your conscience is entirely clear, so that every time you are slandered or falsely accused, those who attack or disparage your good behavior in Christ will be shamed [by their own words]. For it is better that you suffer [unjustly] for doing what is right, if that should be God’s will, than [to suffer justly] for doing wrong.
    1 PETER 3:15‭-‬17 AMP
🤔 had to stop and think on this one. I should always put God first and have a word at the ready for somebody that ask me about; why do I hope in God. That’s easy God will bring peace to a chaotic life. He will free a troubled soul. Jesus can cleanse us; how you might ask. By being baptized in His name. By seeking after Him always; clear your conscience. Give it all to God. He can and will lift the burden off us. Let them bring accusations against you and falsely accuse you. Their words will turn against them. What does the bible say about weapons.
“No weapon that is formed against you will succeed; And every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. This [peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord , And this is their vindication from Me,” says the Lord .
    ISAIAH 54:17 AMP
You see as long as you have God in your life; nothing can stand against you. Go ahead and take the unjustly punishment for righteous sake. Jesus did; why should we be so that we can’t suffer the same way for His word and for His Kingdom. This is the problem today; a lot of people know the word, but don’t put it into practice. That is what we are suppose to do: put God’s word into action; not harbor it like a an animal that forages for the winter. Step out and take that chance. Thank you Jesus for your word and for your Kingdom.

  11. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. This is how the holy women of old made themselves beautiful. They put their trust in God and accepted the authority of their husbands.
    1 Peter 3:4-5 NLT

Goals: to become holy beautiful. It’s not our job to worry about the beauty of our outward appearance, God already fashioned us in His likeness. Our job is to keep out inward man holy and beautiful in the sight of God because like Bro. Dillon Morgan emphasized, today’s battle is in the mind. We must keep our inward selves pure, clean and acceptable unto God.

  12. MAKE Your Peace

Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.
    1 Peter 3:11 NLT

And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.
    James 3:18 NLT

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
    Matthew 5:9 KJV

There is a difference between a peaceKEEPER and a peaceMAKER. NO WHERE in the KJV is the word peacekeeper. Why? Because of the chaos that we live in. This world does not support the Kingdom of God. That’s why we’re called foreigners and aliens. This world is not our home. By the guidance from God, exercising and operating in the fruits of the Spirit, and in the authority of the Holy Ghost it is our job to make peace where it does not reside. When we pray the Peace of God over a situation sometimes God saturates it with His Peace and sometimes He wants us to be the conduit and allow His peace to flow through us and into those around us. As a Sunday School teacher we pray for peace in our classrooms. Sometimes that doesn’t happen unless we put our foot down and do not allow disobedience, chaos, or rebellion to take place. Being a peaceMAKER sometimes means you’ve got to stand guard and fight for it. Just like freedom isn’t free…neither is peace. You’ve got to make it, establish it, and fight for it. But we have the power to do all of that and more because of Him who gives us strength-our LORD of ALL JESUS CHRIST.

  13. 8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

My heart is burdened today for those that are in our midst, broken and hurting, the coins that are lost in the house. How many has God delivered from illness, disease, trouble and sin, and yet for some reason instead of living for God in victory, they have slipped into deception and are giving themselves to the enemy, the world.

We must have compassion and love, and find a means to restore them so that their testimony is strong and a witness for the Kingdom of God.

Lord help me to help a hurting soul.

  14. 8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

Turn the other cheek. Yes, it is very hard to do this sometimes, but right here it says not rendering evil for evil.bless those that curse you, and uplift those that tear you down.

  15. Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing. For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil.” Now, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats. Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.

  16. “But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.”
    ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I’m going to share something I read two weeks ago that talks about these verse that stayed in my mind of how we as woman of Christ should be when Peter talks about wearing the ornaments of Meek & quiet spirit.

Meek and quiet spirit these words do not picture a woman who is weak, timid, or soft-spoken. The word “meek” is the Greek word praus, a word that describes the attitude of one who is friendly, warm, forbearing, patient, kind, and gentle. This would picture someone who is just the opposite of a person who is angry, temperamental, or given to outbursts of anger. Although a meek person faces opportunities to react in anger or to get upset, he or she has chosen to be controlled, forgiving, and gentle.

When Peter goes on to use the word “quiet” in this verse, he employs the use of the Greek word hisuchios, which depicts a person who knows how to calm himself and to maintain a state of peace and tranquility. Rather than speak up and utter words that are later regretted, this individual stays quiet and refrains from angry responses. He or she deliberately decides not to be a contributor to conflicts, but to be a peacemaker instead.

So when Peter writes about a “meek and quiet spirit,” he is paying the highest compliment to wives who fit this description. These wives are so strong in spirit that they are able to refrain from outbursts of anger and thus are able to become a calming force in a variety of difficult situations. Considering the many opportunities wives have to get shaken or upset by the affairs of life, it is very commendable when a wife is so strong, so consistent, and so stable in the home that she consistently “steadies the ship” and helps keep peace in every situation.
    – book is called controlling your emotions

If you ask me it takes great strength to become the kind of woman Peter is describing. A woman who continually controls herself holding her temper, keeping a lid on my emotions, and remaining a stable, tranquility in every situation. And not just that but demonstrating evidence of great maturity. I myself have a hard time to keep my mouth quiet, God knows He put me on a road I have a hard time doing what he ask of me 😬 but when I read this book and started to putting it into practice not only do I help the situation but we can breathe peace when we are facing situations that can bring the worst of me.
Now I know God highly values us when we become this kind of strong, steady force in the home. He knows how many times as wife’s we have the opportunity to get upset about something that has happened. So when we choose to control our selfs and be a contributor to peace instead of strife, God sees us as rare, precious, dear, and to be valued. He appreciates it when we put aside our own anger or emotions and instead we help for peace to reign in our relationship with Our husband and with other people.

God thinks very highly of such a woman!
Oh Lord I know you are not done with me 😬

  17. “Your adornment must not be merely external–with interweaving and elaborate knotting of the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or [being superficially preoccupied with] dressing in expensive clothes; but let it be [the inner beauty of] the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality and unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit, [one that is calm and self-controlled, not overanxious, but serene and spiritually mature] which is very precious in the sight of God.”
    ‭‭1 PETER‬ ‭3:3-4‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Real beauty is not what you wear but who you are.

We can search the Bible and find the characteristics of a godly woman.
To name a few; she is modest and holy, has a gentle spirit and the heart of a servant, she seeks to be wise in her decisions, she is a hard worker and takes care of her home, she loves, she trusts in God’s plan, she is faithful and submissive.

These character traits will never be promoted by the world, but are considered precious in the eyes of God.

  18. 18 Christ suffered[d] for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit.

Despite of what we might feel in the physical, we need to stop and analyze, pray, and ask God what He is doing among in the spiritual. We don’t just go through sufferings because God is being mean, but because He loves us. How do we expect to grow without spiritual battles. Suffering is what keeps our faith in check and growing spiritually.

  19. 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

When your truely living for God. It shows and people want to know more about God and why you choose to live that way. We should always be ready to answer any and all of there questions the very best we can. And if they reject your conversation, they are not rejecting you but God in you.

  20. What I learned from this chapter was that men and wife’s have to be loyal to each other, and that women shouldn’t wear jewelry and fancy things to look fancy on the outside but to have a good spirit on the inside.

  21. Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him

  22. Those that are righteous will catch God’s attention. He gives us power to do things that might seem impossible. For those that obey the word of God they can do great things.

  23. But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

    • Sanctified the lord Jesus in your hearts and always be ready to every man that you ask a reason that is In you for meekness and fear

  24. iLove the Kingdom in Action
4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

To gain favor and value with God is exact opposite as to gain with the world. The world teaches women rights and women marches and women power and women standing up and fighting back against the God given authority of the husband. Come on yall, where is all that in the Bible?🤔

The Word of God puts the man and woman back into their proper role. Men submit to the man of God and wives submit to their husbands.

  25. Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

    • So I am not rendering evil for evil or for railing but I do have a controlwise blessing knowing that I am there to inherit you a blessing.
For I will love life and I get to see the good days So I get to see Jesus refrain his tongue from evil and only use for good not bad

  26. 5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

As a new Christian in the church and a single mom, I watched the couples in the church and how they acted toward one another-what what they said about one another to their body language in every day life and I found a young couple that I decided had a good godly marriage. I used the example of this marriage and when I prayed about marriage- I let the Lord know I wanted a husband who lifted me up, not tore me down, who was faithful in words and deed- like this couple demonstrated. That couple today is in ministry with their own church (Bro & Sis Charles Johnson) and they are still being the example of these scriptures to others. And yes, I married a godly man and hope our marriage would be an example to others who may be looking for a godly, faithful spouse who lives for God like these scriptures point out-lifting one another up in words and prayers.

  27. I Peter 3:8,9 Inheritance of a Blessing

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

    Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

  28. “Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.”

    ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:12-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  29. 1. IN LIKE MANNER, wives, put yourselves in subjection to your own husbands with implicit obedience, in order that even though certain ones obstinately refuse to be persuaded by the Word and are therefore disobedient to it, they may through the manner of life of the wives without a word [from the wives] be gained…

    7. Husbands, IN LIKE MANNER, let your home life with them be governed by the dictates of knowledge, they being the weaker instrument, the feminine, holding in reserve for them particularly honor as to those who are also fellow-inheritors with you of the grace of life, and this, in order that no [Satanic] inroads be made into your prayers.

    8. Now, to come to a conclusion. Be ALL OF YOU LIKE-MINDED. Be sympathetic. Have a brotherly affection for one another. Be tender-hearted. Be humble-minded…
    1 Pet 3:1, 7-8 Wuest Expanded Translation

“In like manner…” as what? To answer that, we have to go back to Chapter 2:
    * Verse 13 says, “Submit to every human authority because of the Lord…,” (1 Peter 2:13 HCSB).
    * Verse 17 adds, “Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the Emperor,” and
    * Verse 18 continues, “Household slaves, submit with all fear to your masters…”
    * Finally, verses 21-24 state, “For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in His steps.” The verses then define the example Jesus gave as that of humbly submitting Himself to death on the cross in honor of God and in love for others.

The ongoing conversation, therefore, is our need to have an humble spirit, which submits to, prefers, honors, and loves others above ourselves. Thus, in like manner as Christ submitted to God, wives should submit to their own husbands, preferring them as the head of the household. In like manner as Christ showed honor to weaker mankind (washing them in His own blood), husbands should prefer their wives and honor them. And, in like manner as Christ loved us enough to die for us, all of us should prefer our brothers and sisters and be loving, sympathetic, tender-hearted, and humble-minded toward them.

Paul often preached the same message, because this is the heart of the Kingdom: others before self. We cannot call ourselves Christians, if we are always fighting for our own rights and ignoring the needs of others. If we are resisting submitting our will to authority figures; resisting giving all men and women (especially those who are weaker than ourselves) equal honor regardless of their gender, race, or societal status; or resisting the sacrificial love we are called to give, we don’t have a servant’s heart; we are not slaves to Christ (1 Pet 2:16). (PRIDE, IN ALL ITS FORMS IS IDOLATRY. “Only by pride cometh contention,” Prov. 1310a.)

The love of God shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost should make us humble people ready to love and serve God and others.

“…Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.”
    1 Peter 5:5 KJV

“Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;”
    Romans 12:10 KJV

  30. 8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

This command brings us back to the need to know God’s word. We can’t be of one mind, the mind of Jesus, if we don’t know what His mind is. The word of God shows us the mind of Jesus

  31. 1Peter 3

5 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

How beautiful the scripture started at the beginning how to adorn ourself men and women. How to reflect God’s glory even in marriage. Trusting God in our relationships. Putting Him on which is incorruptible. It starts within the heart and grows daily in our life. The world will ask questions when they see the examples of the church Be lives outside the church within our own families. We can have true answers to give in the midst of their chaos. The Spirit ofGod within us will draw people as we lift up God. We do have the answe the world seeks. Simply Jesus.

  32. 9 Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will bless you for it.

If someone does you wrong, or bad mouths you, don’t look for revenge. If you do, your lowering yourself to their level. Turn and tell them, “thank you, bless you”, tell them kind words, and that will quiet them down, or infuriate them even more. They will see the self-control you have.

  33. Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
2 While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.
    3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

The Bible puts a good effort on wives, husbands, and children. I believe this is because a husband and wife’s relationship is often compared to the relationship the father had with the church. As we instructs us as wives He is also instructing the church. This is why we should all take notice and enjoy the instruction

  34. 7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

If men won’t dwell with their wife according to knowledge, giving honour into her, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; then why should GOD listen to or hear the petition that comes from an indifferent or unwilling heart….. to love and obey are decisions that one makes…………

With all that being said I hope everybody had a lovely truffle day!!! Blessings!!!

  35. 20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

8 SOULS……..we can pick and choose alllll day but only the willing will be saved…..but we won’t stop!!! We all know that THEY CAN RUN BUT THEY CAN NOT HIDE!!! LOL!!! HALELUJAH!!! THANK YOU JESUS for loving me, DADDY I SO LOVE YOU!!!

  36. For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.
    1 Peter 3:10 NLT

Wow.. many people try to discover the secret to living a happy life. I think I’ve seen books written about it and what not. But it is so simple and the Word teaches us for free how to have many happy days. Keep your mouth. Keep your mouth from speaking evil and telling lies. As simple as that. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Speak life and you will for sure reap life.

  37. 1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;

Sometimes i dont like to be in subjection to my husband (most times jk), his attitude (most times LOL) and love for me makes it easy to love him and subject myself unto a great man!!! If we learn to forgive quickly it’s easier…….we ourselves make it harder than what it really is (pride) ……..

  38. “And see to it that your conscience is entirely clear, so that every time you are slandered or falsely accused, those who attack or disparage your good behavior in Christ will be shamed [by their own words].”
    ‭‭1 PETER‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭AMP‬‬

In everything we do we must do it purely, in good conscience, and without evil intent. Our actions, thoughts, and words should not give anybody reason to slander God in any way, we should constantly be a walking testimony for him. On top of that, if we are living accordingly to the way God wants us to we should t worry what people say or think of us because God is the ultimate judge of everyone.

  39. 17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

The last couple of chapters have mentioned that there will be suffering for well doing. And I like how vs 17 explains it is better to suffer for well-doing than for evil-doing.

Even though we are suffering, Vs 12 says “The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil.”.

I would rather suffer for good, and have the eyes of the Lord watching over and His ears open to my prayers. Then to suffer for wrong and have His face turned from me.

  40. 1 Peter 3:10-12
    10) For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
    11) Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
    12) For the eyes of thee Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

This is a quotation from Psalms 34:12-16
    12) What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
    13) Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
    14) Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
    15) The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
    16) The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

These verses demonstrate the blessings that comes to those who turn away from evil and do good.
If we are righteous, His eyes are upon us, and He hears our prayers.
    BUT
If we do evil, then His face is against us. It is our sin that has hid His face from us. (Is.59:2).

  41. 14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

This only one reason but a good reason for us to read the word of God every day. And not only read it but study the word as well. For if we wanna reach out to people and tell them about Jesus. We gotta be ready when they ask us some questions and they will ask questions. We need to have the wisdom to answer the right way and also be knowledgable enough on the bible to be able to show them in the word what you are saying.

  42. 1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives

This is how I came to the truth. My wife went to church for years without me. I would go every now and then to appease her but mostly she would go alone or after we had kids she would take them with her but I stayed home or did something else for eight years. She won me to the Lord by her example. She shared the word with me when I would listen but most of her work was done by just a godly example. I am forever indebted to my wife and I thank God that she was strong enough to keep it together through Jesus till I saw the light.

  43. “Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes.”
    ‭‭#dont worry about a thing

  44. “Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes.”
    ‭‭#dont worry about a thing

  45. Finally, all of you be like-minded [united in spirit], sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted [courteous and compassionate toward each other as members of one household], and humble in spirit; and never return evil for evil or insult for insult [avoid scolding, berating, and any kind of abuse], but on the contrary, give a blessing [pray for one another’s well-being, contentment, and protection]; for you have been called for this very purpose, that you might inherit a blessing [from God that brings well-being, happiness, and protection].
    1 PETER 3:8‭-‬9 AMP
These verses give a great outline for marital success. I especially like the prayer for one another’s well being, happiness and protection. Since most marital problems arise from selfishness, this prayer helps combat that with other person mindedness!

  46. But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,
    1 Peter 3:15 NIV

Why do we have hope? I have hope because of a promise that was givin to us from God. I have hope because of my my faith in a king that has never failed me. My hope is that others will see my actions and seek to find what/who it is that gives me this hope.

  47. I Love To Worship The Lord
    (vs-7)
Remember that you and your wife are partners in receiving Gods blessings and if you dont treat her as you should will not get ready answers
I can really relate to this verse. My wife and i are really blessed. we have been married for over 12 years as time went on through the years God has really blessed us. Each year God seemed to blessed us increasingly more each year. At this time we are so blessed its hard for me to imagain
    THANK YOU JESUS
(vs-10) If you want a happy and good life with your spouse keep control of your tongue and guard your lips from telling lies

  48. In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.
    1 Peter 3:7 NLT
Not only are our wives equal with us in God’s eyes but we must honor them and understand them if we want our prayers not to be hindered.

  49. We are living apistles read by all men. We are the ones that show Jesus to those around us. If they don’t know who he is they see him in the us. We must win the world by showing the love of Jesus without saying a word.

  50. For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

I die daily for my sims because Christ died for them when I needed it the most! I am not perfect, or even close to it. I thank Jesus every day for what he has done for me!

  51. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

This is the reason we should prayer for them that offend us, in doing so we show God that we are compassionate. A great lesson needed learning when offense is at the door.

  52. 8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
We are a family. Be of one mind. Be unified. Do unto others. . . God gave us each a purpose and we are anointing for our calling. Yet we still need each other and should treat each other with respect.

  53. 1 Peter 3:21-22
    21) The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God.) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
    22) Who has gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; Angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

  54. 7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Many times we miss it, when we don’t give honor to our spouse as we should. Just as it says here, when we dishonor them, our prayers become hindered.
