Acts Chapter 10 – FIRE2 – 10/40

Day 10: Acts Ch.10. The Fire continues as God connects Peter with a Roman soldier named Cornelius. Although the Christian faith began among Jews, it is beginning to make its way to Gentiles (non-Jews) as well. Prayerfully thank God for His love and acceptance of all people from all backgrounds and all nations. Also, pray that we would be filled with the Love of God and would love others as Christ has loved us.

Acts 10

There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,

A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.

And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:

He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;

And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate,

18 And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.

19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.

21 Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?

22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

23 Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

24 And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and he had called together his kinsmen and near friends.

25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

27 And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.

28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

29 Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?

30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

32 Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.

33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)

37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:

40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;

41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.

42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.

43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

  1. 44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

    1. They heard the word, that is, they believed (v44)
    2. They received the Holy Spirit (v44,47)
    3. They were baptized (v48)

This is the order of events that prevails for Jew and Gentile alike in God’s plan of salvation when God is calling out all his people of all the nations for His name.

  2. “While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”

If we are not careful our doubt can produce fear. Fear can and will keep us from doing the work of a minister.
Peter was told by Jesus himself ‘GO’ doubting nothing.’
Could it be… that doubt (lack of faith) is withholding the hand of GOD to do what He desires at POFW?
Jesus, forgive me for the lack of faith.
** FAITH IS REQUIRED IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD **

“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

  3. 13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

As looking at this scripture it is clear that Peter thought that God was talking about unclean animals, but actually talking about a person who was cleansed by the Holy Ghost, washed by his name Jesus, and sins forgiven. We find that here in the apostle’s time, different races could not be together while teaching, but God gave the ok to sit among others from different nations and race.

This is the mentality of God, for the church to be sent to preach the Gospel to all nations and baptizing them in the name of Jesus Christ and they shall be filled with the Holy Ghost. We have to be bolder and be willing to be used in the reaping of the harvest. We can not be afraid of work in this last day. We are running out precious time to reach all souls, because Jesus is not coming until this gospel is preach to every nation and tongue. So what God has saved and anointing will be cleansed and made while again.

  4. The angel said of Cornelius “Your prayers and neighborly acts have brought you to God’s attention” and then Cornelius himself “called two servants and one particularly devout soldier from the guard”. This brought to my mind something I heard on the radio yesterday “what God knows about us is more important than what others think”. What is known about you, how are you perceived, what is your reputation, what do you reflect???? The bible tells us that Cornelius was a good man and led everyone in his house to live worshipfully before God, was always helping people in need, and had the habit of prayer; while the soldier that Cornelius called was particularly devout. LIVE-GIVE JESUS² and let us shine the love of God in all that we do!

Verses 23-48 are captioned “God Plays No Favorites” and reminds of what Bishop Cornwell would always tell us “THERE IS ROOM IN THE HOUSE OF GOD FOR EVERYBODY”!

  5. 34. Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

    35. But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

    Luke 24:47
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

    Everybody ought to know
    Everybody ought to know
    Everybody ought to know
    Who Jesus is.

He’s the lily of the valley
    He’s the brightest morning star
He’s the fairest of ten thousand
    Everybody ought to know.

  6. Acts 10:42-43

And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

In case anyone forgot. It’s commanded that we reach the lost. We can get on cruise control when it comes to be a Christian. No one is suppose to be just a “good saint” we’re all called to reach the lost and seek for those who are lost. Petertold us and now we’re reminded again.

  7. 34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Thank You Jesus! All are accepted if they choose to fear the Lord and work in righteousness! Sounds pretty good to me, just have relationship with Him and work! God can and will use anyone who is willing!

  8. Acts 10 : 9- 10 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh into the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour.
    (10) And became very hungry, and would have eaten; but while they made ready, he fell into a trance.
It don’t matter what you have done or what color you are.
God wants to save everyone , He does want anyone to persish.
Jesus loves you and so much he love endures forever.
Cornelius and Peter always prayed to God.
Obeinant and a prayer life is the Key.

Glory to God his mercy endures forever.

  9. “So Peter went down and said, “I’m the man you are looking for. Why have you come?” They said, “We were sent by Cornelius, a Roman officer. He is a devout and God-fearing man, well respected by all the Jews. A holy angel instructed him to summon you to his house so that he can hear your message.” So Peter invited the men to stay for the night. The next day he went with them, accompanied by some of the brothers from Joppa.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭10:21-23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Peter reached out in love to his Gentile neighbors, in obedience to what God told him to do.
We as believers we don’t need to hesitate to obey God and go were He send us to go and give the message of salvation to those who need God.

  10. 28: and he said unto them, ye know that this is an unlawful thing for a man to be a Jew to keep company or come unto one of another nation but God hath show me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

  11. Obedience no es facil pero no impossible, cuando amamos a alguien nos es simple hacerlo y mas si sabemos complacer a quien todo nos lo da nuestro senor JESUS asi que Hermanos Sigamos esforzandonos dia a dia para recibir favor de el.

  12. 14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

We know that Peter was the first one to bring the message to the gentiles even though he was a little resistant at first. Although, in this verse, God is speaking about me and food that is considered clean and unclean but we know it is digging into something deeper later on when it comes to bringing the gospel to the gentiles. I believe the most important principle we can take from this is that, it is not our perspective that matters when it comes to people. It’s not about whether or not we’re comfortable or we feel led all the time, it’s about whether or not God is calling us to speak to them. Our comfort and opinion carries no wait when it comes to souls that God is trying to reach out to.

  13. WHO CAN DENY THESE INFLAMMABLE PROOFS

once you revived the Holy Ghost it’s easier to understand the magnitude and burden to be baptized in Jesus name. These are signs of new believers faith growing, and them falling in love with truth. A true hunger. They want to be baptized. Let them. Today!

    Who can deny this?

“Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:47-48‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  14. 15 “And a voice spoke to him again the second time, “What God has cleansed you must not call common.””

34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

The Gentiles were no longer to be called unclean. Every nation and every person is welcome in God’s Kingdom. You must fear God and seek Him. Then repent and be baptized in Jesus Name.

  15. 15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

At first Peter probably thought God was talking only about food, but he soon learned that was not the case.

God can use our everyday life to teach us and instruct us! We just have to be sensitive to His voice!

  16. 28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

Jesus said to a gentile woman that it was ment for him to minister to the Jews. This had a purpose of reestablishing the the covenant, into the new covenant and not to be misconstrued into rejecting the Gentiles. The redemption of the cross is for all of mankind. The Gentiles are now grafted into the vine.

  17. Acts 10:24, “And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.”

While waiting for the Preacher (Peter) to come, Cornelius wasn’t setting idly by, he “CALLED” his kinsmen and near friends to come together, so that they could hear the Preacher (Peter) too.
During these 40 Days of FIRE2, we can’t be setting idly by waiting for the Preacher (Bishop Foster, Bro. Mahaney, Bro. Wade, Bro. Smith, Bro. Adams, Bro. Godwin) to come. Make a “CALL,” and INVITE your Family, Friends, Neighbors, Co-Workers, etc… to come together, so that they can hear the Preacher too.

Who knows? Maybe while the Preacher is Preaching the Word, the Holy Ghost will fall on them, and they will speak with tongues and magnify God, and they will be Baptized in the name of the Lord – JESUS!! (vs. 44-48).

  18. 7 And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;

8 And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

The angel spoke to him and he sent 2 servants and and soldier. A soldier that was close to him. In one of the most important moments of his life he sent those that served close to him. I want to serve God and those of leadership in my life so closely that even in the most important moments I can be sent to be apart of what God is doing in the lives of others.

  19. Acts 10
4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

5 And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:

6 He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate,

20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.

28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

    2Men
I could not help but highlight these particular scriptures
One man fasting and praying and living a life some Christians don’t even live God seen the desire of his heart to have more . He did not even k is why the more was he was seeking . Then the second man Peter questioning God “really Lord”.? How many times have I possibly missed in questioning God when the opportunity seems not what it should be yet God says share the word . 2 Men both being spoke to by God . What if Cornelius had not gone ? What if Peter refused ? Oh but no both took the step of obedience realizing that God was in charge! Today I must declare God is in charge if I pause to truly listen to what He is saying I truly believe that God will use me fir the kingdom . God duly remind me to stop and hear your voice whether it be to increase my faith or bring a soul to the Kingdom of God through Your truth. We must remember their are people who are hungry that already have. Walk with God we are just to lead them to Acts2:38 and guide them through the Word. Two men but they both had to be willing .

  20. “Cornelius was frightened and stared intently at him and said, “What is it, lord (sir)?” And the angel said to him, “Your prayers and gifts of charity have ascended as a memorial offering before God [an offering made in remembrance of His past blessings].”
    ‭‭ACTS‬ ‭10:4‬ ‭AMP‬‬

What a privilege to know that our prayers and gifts of love come up as a memorial offering before God. I pray that the prayers and gifts of love that my Grandmother Lupe prayed would come up as a memorial before the Lord today! And I declare this day that my whole family is saved and wholeheartedly serving the Lord alone!

  21. 34Opening his mouth, Peter said:
“Most certainly I understand now that God is not one to show partiality [to people as though Gentiles were excluded from God’s blessing], 35but in every nation the person who fears God and does what is right [by seeking Him] is acceptable and welcomed by Him. AMP

God doesn’t matter the color of skin our race are who we are he died for us all to be saved. If we call on the name on Jesus and are sincere he will hear us .

  22. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

This is an amazing scripture. It shows us how much importance God puts in Fasting/Praying/and Giving. Cornelius was simply a Gentile trying his best to respect the Jewish God. This should be one of our rallying chapters in the book of Acts during this 40 Days of Fire2.

  23. 2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

There are good “christian” people who are devout in their studying, prayer and fasting to God. As people with truth, we must pray that God would lead us to these type people, because once they receive the fullness of truth they will make great POFW saints.

We must pray that while they are seeking God in their own way, that true revelation will come to them. Then we must be ready to share that fullness of truth with them when God speaks to us to do so, as their heart will already be prepared to receive it. However, we must remember they are devout christians in their own way, therefore we must not treat them like they are sinners, but respect what they have already learned and how they already worship in their own way. Build relationship with them, and lead them by example to a deeper relationship of truth and worship with the Lord.

  24. Acts of the Apostles 10:15,36
[15]But the voice spoke again: “Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean.”

    1 Timothy 4:4
Since everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it but receive it with thanks.

The vision was to show Peter that God would receive Gentiles into the kingdom. This is a place of great importance to beat down the frowardness of men, which they judge too often. There is no man almost which doth not grant liberty to himself to judge of other men’s doings.

    Matthew 7:1-4
[1]“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.
[2]For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.
[3]“And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?
[4]How can you think of saying to your friend, ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye?

God was about to do a new thing & Peter wanted to hold on to the old. We need to stop holding on to old things and let them go and God will open the door and bless you with new things. Old habits and hurts and place them in God’s hands. The battle is not yours.

[36]This is the message of Good News for the people of Israel—that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.

Jesus is the prince of peace.

    Ephesians 2:14
For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us.

  25. 34Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. 35In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.

Yes God accepts everyone. It’s up to each of us to find favor by God. Do what is right in God’s eyes and you’ll be joining him in heaven.

  26. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    FAITHFULNESS INVITES TRUTH

1 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

The book of Acts is filled with opportunities for the Born Again experience. In this chapter we see a man that has been FAITHFUL in Prayer, Outreach, Fasting and Worship. The FAITHFULNESS of Cornelius was an invitation for TRUTH. He loved GOD and was FAITHFUL with what he knew and JESUS revealed TRUTH of the New Birth experience to his Hungry and FAITHFUL heart.

As Born Again believers in a Revival Church atmosphere it is convenient and easy to “MISS” all the wonderful works that JESUS does. But, this testimony has encouraged millions over the ages to remain FAITHFUL and be led by JESUS to deeper TRUTHS. We are often privileged to witness this at The POFW:

This week LC Skinner contacted The POFW through our website inquiring about Baptism in JESUS Name. Sis. Watts responded to the inquiry with an email and forwarded the information to Bro. Morgan. Bro. Morgan made contact with LC Skinner and confirmed the revelation of Baptism in JESUS Name and invited him to come on Tuesday to Prayer Meeting and be Baptized. Mr Skinner could not make on Tuesday and again emailed the church inquiring about Wednesday Night. Sis. Watts shared the scheduled service for Wednesday and he agreed to attend.

Mr Skinner arrived during service and was very attentive to the WORD of GOD. When the invitation was given, Mr. Skinner came to the altar to pray. The ministers led him to me. I welcomed him to The POFW and the altar. I asked him if he had ever received the Holy Ghost, he responded “no sir”.

I then immediately led him in repentance as we repented together, instructed him to lift his hands to JESUS. Laid my hand on his head and said, “receive the Holy Ghost” LC opened his mouth and began to thank JESUS for the Holy Ghost and then began to speak a language that neither of us could identify. When he stopped speaking, I asked him, “what were you saying” he answered, “I don’t know”. I affirmed to him that this was the Holy Ghost and we then baptized LC in the Name of JESUS. The wonderful works of GOD.

  27. “On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour: and he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

As God spoke to Cornelius, and as Cornelius sent the messengers to call Peter, God also spoke to Peter himself.

This is how God operates. He speaks to several people about a matter, not just one. Then confirmation is provided, and out of the mouth of two or three witnesses a word is established.

  28. “And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:45‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Expect the shock. Expect the ‘I can’t believe’ comments. Expect others to look at you and marvel. You are God’s creation! God has shaped and molded you, He has created you in His image, and you are worth it! Thank you Jesus for outpouring Your Spirit!

  29. Habit of Prayer

The MSG version of verse 2 states “a habit of prayer.” Habits are made by repetition. Performing the Task over and over again over an extended period of time will create a habit. Do we have a habit of prayer? Or do we have a habit of thinking of prayer when things are not quite right.

We know it’s a good thing. We know more time in God’s presence has only positive effects. But we still struggle with it so much, don’t we or is it just me? If we think we can do our daily lives just fine without Him, we will only call out to Him for the really tough stuff. When we start to see how desperately dependent we are on Him for every little aspect of life, we start talking. You will find yourself praying for strength to get through a meeting or just through the morning before a much needed nap.

There are prayer opportunities all around and every day. Think about the things you do that don’t require your brain and just require your hands or feet, like folding laundry, cooking dinner, mowing the grass. Be on the lookout for all the tasks you do each day that aren’t so mental. You might be surprised to see how many opportunities you have to start a conversation with God.

  30. Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is excepted with him. The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: he is Lord of all:) Acts 10:34-36

Lord, who shall abide in the tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. Psalm 15:1,2

Matthew 28:18,19 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

The Gospel is for everyone, we must reach and teach the Truth so they may live a righteous life.

  31. Acts Chapter 10

Let us look at a few things in this chapter.

    1. Cornelius was a centurion of the band called the Italian band, He was a Roman soldier and was given power to command.
    2. His life style; verse 2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway. It did not say pagan gods.
    3. The Jews held him up as a good man. That its self was high complement. Verse 22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews.
    4. Cornelius his relatives and friends to hear Peter. Verse 24 And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and he had called together his kinsmen and near friends.
    5. Peter filled in the Holy Ghost was staying with a friend called Simon a tanner in Verse 6.
    6. The Jews called all non Hebrews Dogs. See Mar 7:26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs
28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.
    7. Peter three times had a vision of unclean food being presented to him to eat.
Peter had never eaten unclean meat. Jesus said Acts 10:15 What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
8 Peter learned Verse 28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
9 Peter spoke to those present the good news. 45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
10 Verse 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
This tells us that the Gospel is for .children and adults. Let us go out to seek and save the Lost.

  32. Acts 10

13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

14 But peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

    (And Peter said unto Cornelius)
28 And he said unto the, Ye know how that is is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosever beliveth in him shall receive remission of sins.

44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days

Before Jesus, the Jewish people had certain foods they could not eat and were only allowed to have company with Jews. (Some Jews are still this way.) With our father Jesus, this has changed for many. We become clean when we repent of sins, baptized in Jesus name and receive the Holy Ghost. All people are Gods people. This is why it is so important to reach out to everyone, different cultures than yours, anyone. I love our church as we have people from all countries.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  33. 33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come.
    37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

God is no respecter of persons it doesn’t matter who you are or where you’ve been nor what you’ve done he will forget you for your sins.As God wants us to forgive others.

  34. An angel said of Cornelius “Your prayers and neighborly acts have brought you to God’s attention” and then Cornelius himself “called two servants and one particularly devout soldier. This is so exciting to me! I want to do lots and lots to gets Gods attention! Oh God, let me do your work and get your attention. I love you so much.

  35. “Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:34-35‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It is amazing to know that we have a father who loves us regardless and has no respected person. He is not one to judge so we as his disciples should follow the example of Christ and except everyone for which they are. We should not have a respected person when witnessing and winning souls to Christ. We have to be willing and able to reach the lost souls and win them to Christ.

  36. 47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

  37. 4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

5 And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:

6 He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

It should be that after we pray we should receive direction for our lives. In this case was for salvation. Yet if we continue in prayer soon we will get what we ought to do.

  38. “This is the message of Good News for the people of Israel—that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭10:36‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Just the presence of the Lord is so peaceful, it’s a wonderful feeling. The Lord protects all his children he fills us all with strength, joy, and peace and courage he won’t ever let us get lost with the evil feelings of this world. As the Lords children we should be going out into the world together spreading the good news of the Lord, teach them his word show them that there is peace through everything they go through. Let us not have doubt of what the Lord can do for us, he can do all so let us do what we can do for him. I pray we do the work of the Lord and that we teach his word and help guide them into Gods presence.

  39. 34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Many times we, who are supposed to be Christ like, do the very opposite, when we excuse someone we are friends or family with, for doing wrong. Maybe someone has money, and we allow them to make mistakes that we wouldn’t allow others

  40. 19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

This is why having a relationship with God is important. You never know what God has in store for you. We must be ready at all times to do his will. God knows every part of our life and when he calls, we need to answer. Even if we do not know what is going on, if we trust him, he will reveal all to us.

  41. “Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭10:34-35‬ ‭NLT

God loves everyone equally even the apostles. We have to do what’s right, and teach the good report of the Lord. Fear the Lord our God for he has done good works in us. Let’s build a fearful church.

  42. 40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;

Although not everyone could see him, Jesus wants us to believe on him, and be saved. If someone really believes, they will do as they have been commanded: repent, be baptized in Jesus Name for the remission of sins, receive the Holy Ghost, and live a holy lifestyle.

  43. “And he ordered us to preach everywhere and to testify that Jesus is the one appointed by God to be the judge of all—the living and the dead.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭10:42‬ ‭NLT

God has appointed us his chosen generation to preach and testify that Jesus is the one only saving name and our judge. Fear not neither be dismayed for the Lord our is with us whithersoever you go. Let us preach and testify of his good news with joy, gladness, and with boldness step out of darkness into marvelous light. Let us spread the fire of the Holy Ghost to all the ends of the earth so everyone can experiences the presence of Jesus.

  44. v20 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom slew and hanged on a tree.
Jesus died for the sins of all people, and His will is that none should perish but that everyone would obey the gospel and receive salvation. Jesus ‘ last words to his disciples were that they would witness in ” uttermost part of the earth ” Acts 1:8

A personal, empowered witness is certainly the most effective tool in winning the lost.

  45. 28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

Restrictions were lifted the moment the Blood of Jesus was shed on the cross. Everyone needs the same salvation that Jesus extends to us.

  46. He was a devout, God-fearing man, as was everyone in his household. He gave generously to the poor and prayed regularly to God.
Acts of the Apostles 10:2 NLT

    https://bible.com/bible/116/act.10.2.NLT

Cornelius kept these teachings through his whole house. He lead his wife and raised his children in the ways of the Lord and they were all greatly blessed because of it

  47. 44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

God will fill who ever is listening to His word., and open heart. Great things happen when we are listening to His word eyes are opened, knowledge is gained and miracles can happen. Gods word is so powerful!

  48. 34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
    37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

“. . . Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: . . . “. How many times have you heard this preached or even simply said by another person? Do you honestly believe that saying?? If so, then why complain when things don’t go our way. Or why complain when something happens and we can’t understand why it happens or we don’t want it.
